Let’s Dive Into The Volley Championship!
Starting May 24th to May 27th, Imperia will be the capital of the under 14 women’s volleyball.
The 21 teams representing all Italian Regions + the Bolzano Province, will face off in a long tournament to enact the new 2012 champion.
It’s really impressive what an organizational structure has to be made available by FIPAV Liguria thanks to the Imperia Committee: 7 playgrounds in 6 gyms (the Sports Hall will host 2 playgrounds) to welcome and support 350 athletes and managers.
And, if it wasn’t enough, Thursday 24th in the evening, a friendly match between Italy and China will take place. A great opportunity to see our representatives, whose next challenge will be the Olimpics Games in London.
It surely will be a “long lasting week end”! SUPPORTERS: the Red Mill is the ideal place where to have some rest and recover from the effort of following all day long those soon-to-be champions!
Some details (sorry, articles in Italian): Primocanale, PuntoImperia and Liguria2000News
How to reach the playgrounds:
- The Sports Hall: parking in front of the Pool and on the port side
- Palestra Maggi: underground parking lot in Piazza Mameli
- Palestra Ruffini: parking behind the Province Palace, in Piazza Roma or in Via Acquarone
- Palestra ITIS: it’s difficult to find parking in Via S.Lucia; some random places in front of the gym. I suggest to park at the Toscanini park near Piazza Dante,or at the Spianata Borgo Peri
The myth is going to Sanremo!
I was just told that next sunday, april 29th, the very first “SaNremo in 500” meeting will take place in Sanremo, thanks to the Sanremo-Ventimiglia arm of the Fiat 500 Club Italia.
The “guys” of my generation will have the opportunity to live over again old emotions and remembrances of, alas, so far-off times.
Unfortunately I’ve found only a few details about the event agenda:
- Here a page from the 500 Club Italia
- Here a page from Turismo in Liguria
which adds some logistic information
