Let’s begin from the idea then let’s go to the story.

Some years ago, a wonderful idea was roaming in our heads. Well, I know, maybe the desire to renovate a house is not properly considered an original and wonderful idea.

But, please, let me explain.

Inside the lands we farm, is annexed an antique mansion, already known as “Molino Rosso” in the 18th century. It was a villa with an  ancient olive oil producing factory , unique in its kind in our surroundings.

My father-in-law bought it in the 60’s and for a couple of years still produced olive oil. Then the olive trees leaved space to greenhouses and flower farming and a numerous sharecropper family installed itself.

That’s the story till a few years ago, when the last farmer went away and we decided to renovate and open an agritourism.

The italian Historic Building and Monuments Commission in Genoa led us to begin a radical conservative renovation, which will represent this blog’s story.

You’ll see the progress since 2008, when we began the works. I hope you’ll be amazed by how good is the work of real experts in antique mansion renovations, from the architect to the builder to the restorers that are bringing back the elder pomp of our villa.

Imagine, we began the renovation in 2008, but, apparently, we’ll have to wait several months before receiving the first guests. A lot of time to tell you all, isn’t it?

We’d like to hear from you, your suggestions, your critiques, your ideas. So don’t be shy and write, write, write. Our email address is info@agriturismocoppirossi.com.

Please, don’t be angry with me if I won’t answer immediately: our life is split between the wholesale trade market (at 4 am), the deliveries to our customers, my daughter and housework.  The computer is the last thing we care about, if we’re still up.
